The Egelabra
Wool Grower's Association (EWA) was formed in 1991 to improve the profitability
of wool growing and to promote the marketing of wool and surplus sheep
based on the Egelabra bloodline for its members.
The
Association works through the wool supply chain to:
- Differentiate
the unique characteristics of Egelabra wool to the end user; and
- Conduct
production trials to create demand and establish alliances with manufacturers
of woollen products.
Membership
requirements:
- Sheep
that have been bred from approved pure Egelabra bloodlines for the past 12 years;
- No introduction
of any bloodline outside of the Egelabra line;
- The
sheep and wool have been classed to an approved standard; and
- Nomination
by two EWA members.
All members
receive a stencil and membership number, which become part of their
wool bale station brand.
Advantages
of being a member of the EWA:
- Brand
positioning under "Egelabra Bred" in the wool market and
saleyards;
- Marketing
support and assistance for wool and sheep sales;
- Wool
marketing contacts and promotion of sale details; and
- Ongoing
brand building through integrated marketing.
